Security Officer: Patrol campus buildings and grounds by vehicle and on foot. Conduct fire and safety inspections and report concerns. Write incident reports and maintain activity logs. Complete student and visitor check-in and check-out procedures. Conduct searches for unauthorized goods. Perform visitor ID and perform vehicle searches. Answer center main phone and transfer calls. Transport students in rural or urban environments as needed. Provide positive, quality customer service. Job Requirements:HS diploma or equivalent. Two years experience with U.S. Armed Services, EMS, security, police, or fire-fighting organization preferred. Ability to occasionally lift and carry 50-70 pounds and frequently climb stairs. Maintain current CPR and first aid certification. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer proficiency. Valid driver's license with an acceptable record. Ability to obtain Oregon DPSST unarmed private security certification within 30 days of hire.Wage: $13.00/hourSchedule:Mon - Fri: 12:30 am - 9:00 amBenefits:MTC offers an excellent benefits package: three weeks paid vacation, two weeks paid sick leave and eleven paid holidays for full-time employees and pro-rated for part-time employees who work at least 20 hours per week. Located at the mouth of the Columbia River, the Center is one of the five largest employers in Clatsop County. Our staff teach 473 youth, ages 16-24, the academic, technical training, employability, and social skills they need to become prepared for successful careers. A Job Corps campus is like a mini-city. It has dormitories, classrooms, a dining hall, and recreational and medical facilities. Training is open entry, open exit and can last up to two years. Students apply for admission and work at their own pace, guided by academic and career training instructors who are committed to their success.Tongue Point offers students training in 16 vocations: building construction technology, carpentry, cement masonry, computer service technology, culinary, dental assisting, electrical, glazing, landscaping, medical assisting, office administration, painting, plastering, welding, and seamanship. We are the only Job Corps Center in the nation with a seamanship program; it is the Center's largest vocation with 120 students.
